What happens if I go over my emailing limits?
At Maileroo, all new accounts are assigned an hourly sending limit that gradually increases as you use our services. For users on our paid plans, your initial hourly limit will be proportionate to your monthly email quota. This helps us protect our users and ensure that Maileroo is not used for spam or any other prohibited activity.
If you need a higher hourly limit, you can contact our support team to submit an appeal. We’ll review your use case to determine if the increase is warranted.
Emails sent beyond your hourly limit are automatically dropped by our system and will not be delivered.
Burst Tokens for Reputable Senders
To help ensure that legitimate email flows are not disrupted, reputable senders will be granted "burst tokens." These tokens allow you to temporarily exceed your hourly limit up to 2-3 times per day, without interruption.
The number of emails you can exceed your hourly limit by depends on your current hourly limit, with the ability to go up to 200% of that limit.
- For accounts sending less than 250,000 emails per month, you will receive 2 burst tokens per day, provided you meet our reputable sender checklist.
- For accounts sending more than 250,000 emails per month, you will be granted 3 burst tokens per day.

What happens if I send more emails than my monthly limits allow?
If your account reaches 100% of its email capacity and you meet the necessary checklist requirements, you'll be granted an additional 12% buffer on top of your maximum email limit. This buffer allows you to continue sending emails without restriction, giving you time to upgrade your account before exceeding the extended limit.
How the Buffer Works:
- When your account hits the maximum email limit, and your account complies with our checklist, you'll be provided with an additional 12% email delivery capacity.
- During this buffer period, you have time to upgrade your plan before emails exceed the 12% additional quota.
- Once the 12% buffer is exceeded, emails will be dropped by our system, and no further emails will be sent until the limit is upgraded.
- This buffer serves as an extension of your account limits, helping you avoid disruptions in your email delivery if you've missed important account limit updates at 75%, 90%, or 100%.
Important Notes:
- Any emails sent after you exceed your monthly limit (including the 12% buffer) will be dropped. Our system does not queue emails until your limit resets or is upgraded.
- If you need a higher monthly limit, we recommend checking our pricing page to find the plan that best suits your requirements.
Free Account Limits
- Free accounts are limited to 3,000 emails per month and won't be subject to this buffer system.
