Receive Email on Your Domain and Decide Where It Goes

Point your MX records at Maileroo and every message arriving at your domain runs through the routes you define. Match on recipient, header, or a custom expression, then forward the message onward, or receive it as parsed JSON at your webhook endpoint.

Powerful Tools for Inbound Email Routing

Three things happen to an inbound message: it gets matched against your routes, parsed into something usable, then forwarded or posted to your endpoint.

Structured Email Parsing
Plaintext, HTML, headers, attachments, and sender details arrive as JSON. We also extract the last reply in a thread on its own, so quoted history does not end up in your ticket.
Flexible Email Forwarding
Send matched mail to a helpdesk, a CRM, or an ordinary mailbox. Wildcards preserve the local part, so everything at one domain can land at the same address on another without a rule per user.
Advanced Email Filtering
Match everything, or match on recipient, header, or an expression combining both. SPF and DKIM enforcement is set per route, and every message is spam checked whether you filter on it or not.
Inbound Workflows

How Inbound Routing Works

Add the MX records, create a route, choose what it matches and what happens next. From there it runs on every message that arrives.

Match Emails With Rules, Not Code

A route matches in one of four ways. Catch All takes everything sent to the domain. Match Recipient and Match Header accept a literal value, a wildcard such as support@* or *@example.com, or a Go regular expression when you need real precision.

Custom expressions combine the two with boolean operators, so a single route can require both a subject pattern and a sender at a particular domain. Rules are built in the dashboard and apply to incoming mail immediately.

You get 1024 routes per account and 128 per domain. You are charged once per email no matter how many of them touch it.

Raw MIME Turned Into Usable JSON

Parsing email properly is tedious work. Nested MIME parts, repeated headers, quoted replies stacked on quoted replies, attachments encoded inline.

You get a clean payload instead: envelope sender, recipients, headers as arrays since header names legitimately repeat, plaintext and HTML bodies, and stripped versions holding only the newest message in the thread.

Attachments and the raw MIME are not stuffed into that payload. They go to object storage and come through as URLs, which keeps the JSON small even when someone sends a 50 MB message.

Delivered to Your Endpoint, or Forwarded to an Email Address

Parsed messages are POSTed to as many endpoints as you need. If your server does not return 200, we retry on a widening schedule that starts at five minutes and stretches out to six hours, which usually covers a bad deploy or a database that fell over.

Every payload carries a one-time validation URL you can call to confirm the request really came from us, with no shared secret to rotate. It also carries a deletion URL, so you can purge a message from our storage the moment you have downloaded what you need. Anything left behind is removed after 72 hours.

If you would rather not write a handler at all, forward the message to another email address instead. SPF and DKIM are applied on the way out.

Decide What Is Allowed Through

Each route can require SPF and DKIM to pass before it accepts a message, and we suggest insisting on DMARC alignment at minimum. Spam checking runs on everything regardless of how the route is configured.

Suspicious mail is not silently dropped. We tag it with an X-Spam-Status header and hand the decision to you. Plenty of customers forward flagged mail anyway and use that header to file it into a junk folder, which makes a false positive recoverable rather than gone.
