Maileroo is made up of more than 25 components and microservices working together to deliver your email reliably. Here's an open look at the languages, databases, infrastructure, and tools we rely on every day.
The React framework behind our frontend. Server rendering, fast routing, and reusable components keep every page quick and consistent as we grow.
Our utility-first styling framework, giving us responsive layouts and a shared design language across every screen size.
Most of our core infrastructure is written in Go, including over 20 microservices that handle the heavy lifting behind every email you send.
The mail transfer agent that sends every Maileroo email. Built in Rust for high throughput, memory safety, and fine-grained delivery control.
Our primary database. Accounts, domains, and core platform data live in MySQL, where consistency and relational integrity matter most.
Handles sessions and caching to keep things snappy, and doubles as a lightweight queue for background jobs and outgoing emails.
Stores logs, email content, and other data that doesn't fit neatly into a relational model, with room to scale alongside sending volume.
Queues emails and background jobs between services, so work is processed reliably even during traffic spikes.
A fast embedded key-value store from CockroachDB that holds temporary data inside our custom DNS nameserver.
Our heaviest workloads and databases run on dedicated hardware for predictable performance with no noisy neighbours.
Many of our microservices, including our MTAs, run on virtual machines that are easy to scale, isolate, and replace.
Emails, images, and other files uploaded by users are kept in S3-compatible object storage, giving us durable, scalable file hosting.
Our reverse proxy of choice, routing incoming traffic to the right microservice quickly and reliably.
A modern web server with automatic HTTPS, handling TLS certificates and serving traffic for parts of our platform with zero manual renewals.
A battle-tested load balancer that spreads traffic across our services, with health checks that route around failures automatically.
An intelligent database proxy that sits in front of our MySQL servers, handling query routing, read/write splitting, and automatic failover.
Serves static assets and images from a global edge network, and we run some of our workloads on Bunny Magic Containers, close to users worldwide.
Maileroo now runs primarily on Cloudflare, which handles our DNS and protects our website and APIs from abuse and attacks.
Still hosts DNS for some of our assets, most notably the reverse DNS (rDNS) records for our sending IP addresses.
Powers our ticket support, helping our engineers track every request and follow through until it's resolved.
Our live chat. When you message us, you're talking directly to the engineers who build Maileroo.
The privacy-focused provider we officially use for all of our own email communication.
Automates the deployment of our servers and services, keeping every environment consistent and repeatable.
Packages our services into lightweight containers, so they build, ship, and run the same way from development through to production.
Our in-house Go and Next.js app that drives Joey behind the scenes, crawling our website, docs, and other facts to maintain the brain of our AI assistant.
Our in-house Go and Next.js headless CMS, powering the content behind our blog, help center, changelog, and more.
Our in-house abuse engine. Talon grades every new email, reacts in real time, and scores senders to keep our network and IP reputation clean.
Part of Maileroo Talon, Linkwraith scans every link in outgoing emails for malicious content before it ever reaches an inbox.
